Kunstwerk Katwijk Uitlaat engineering structure

Rijnland Higher Water Board and the municipality of Katwijk

Between October 2013 and February 2015, the coast near Katwijk was reinforced with a ‘Dyke in the Dune’ structure. An underground car park was constructed between the dyke and the boulevard. At the same time, the dune area was widened and redesigned. It is a unique and innovative combination within a single project. The completion of the Katwijk engineering structure means that the coast of Zuid-Holland is now future-proof.
